15 Absolutely bizarre beverages

These ain't your usual soft drinks or fruit juices. From soda pop with full course meal flavors to alcoholic beverages with animal waste in them, join me as we count down 15 immensely odd drinks that actually exist.

#15: Lester's Fixins food soda

There's a flavor you won't see Coke or Pepsi making!
Instead of the usual cherry and grape, the flavors of these sodas are based on various popular non-fruit foods. Flavors include bacon, sweet corn and buffalo wing.

#14: Diet water

This is just stupid!

This is pretty much water advertised as a diet drink. What it does differently from regular water, I have no idea.

#13: Peyote tea

That's one hell of a high man!

Made in Southern USA, this tea is made from boiling water and peyote cactus. For those who don't know, peyote is known for causing wild hallucinations.

#12: Liquid smoking

That's one way to kick a bad habit!
Made by Dutch company United Drinks and Beauty Corporation, this drink was made as an alternative to cigarettes. According to the CEO, it gets its craving fighting power from various South African root plants. Unfortunately, both the drink and the company no longer exist.

#11: Dirt soda

Somebody's desperate for a new soda flavor!

This is a soda that literally tastes like dirt. It doesn't have any actually dirt in it, however. Instead, it contains pure cane sugar and earthly mineral taste to create an interesting flavor.

#10: Snake wine

Talk about a venomous drink!

True to its name, this is a rice wine with a dead snake in it. It has been consumed in both China and Vietnam and was once consumed as medicine, as it was though the snake's venom had beneficial properties for the drinker.

#9: Bird's nest drink

Wait, this seems familiar...

Much like bird's nest soup, this drink includes the nest from swiftlets and is consumed for medical purposes.

#8: Yage

Warning: Side effects include tripping out, loss of mind and making you look like an illegal drug connoisseur!

Made in Peru and created using various plants containing the hallucinogenic drug DMT, this drink is made to induce visions and help people discover their sense of self worth.

#7: Sourtoe cocktail

Who owns this bar, Hannibal Lecter!?

Since 1739, the Sourtoe Cocktail club in Dawson, Yukon Territory has been serving this drink, which contains a severed and preserved human toe. If you for whatever reason choose to drink it, you'll face a hefty fine of $2,500.

#6: Kopi luwak

Talk about crappy coffee!

This brand of coffee is made from partially digested coffee cherries that were eaten and pooped out by Asian palm civets. Despite this unappetizing fact, this is one of the most expensive coffee brands in the world, reaching retail prices of $100 per kilogram farmed and $1,300 per kilogram of wild collected beans.

#5: Baby mice wine

This is messed up!
Sold as a health tonic in Chinese and Korean cultures, this drink is made by drowning tons of baby mice in rice wine and leaving the concoction to ferment.

#4: Three penis liquor

Okay, now we've gone too far!

This alcoholic drink contains the penises of seals, deer and Cantonese dogs. It is believed to enhanced the male sex drive.

#3: Hoihoi tatea

This sounds like an April Fool's Day joke!

This New Zealand drink is made from horse semen and apple flavoring. It was literally first made to enter a weird food and drink contest.

#2: Gau Jal/panda dung tea

I know how you feel, random image people use in text messages.

This one's a tie because both drinks are very similar. The former is a soft drink made from cow urine, while the later is a tea in which the leaves used to brew it were grown from panda poop.

#1: Placenta smoothie

And here I though it couldn't get weirder than cow pee!

Some post-pregnancy mothers have their recently severed placentas blended into smoothies to drink. I have no comment.

I guess with the right creativity/lack of common sense, anything can become a beverage. I mean what's next, cremated gardener juice? If you know of any other odd drinks I may have missed, feel free to mention them in the comments section. I'll see you later. Have a happy Thanksgiving.
