15 Interesting webcams

Some livestreams merely involve some random guy playing video games... And others take you to more unique scenarios. From a chance to witness the Loch Ness Monster to a front row seat of the oldest science experiment in history, join me as we count down 15 rather odd webcams.

#15: Bubble Cam

This livestream takes place in the back yard of a Florida couple. The fun part comes from the bubble machine. Click on the bubbles button underneath the viewing window and you'll see a blast of bubbles cover the yard.

#14: Centennial light bulb

This cam takes place in a California firehouse and focuses on a light bulb. That doesn't seem like much, until you read around the site and discover that bulb's been burning for over well 100 years!

#13: RealLifeCam

This website allows you to view the rooms of various people living in an apartment building. Some of the cams are free, but you need a membership to access the rest.

#12: Aquarium of the Pacific

This website allows you to see several aquatic creatures up close and personal. Viewable creatures include penguins, jellyfish and even sharks.

#11: BigRigTravels

This cam puts you in the front seat of a truck driver as he makes his usual deliveries. The whole site decorated like the console of a truck and you can view the action from either an integrated YouTube player or snowman cam.

#10: Watching Grass Grow

This might seem like the most boring site imaginable, but it has some quirks to it. For one, you don't just see the grass grow. Occasionally, a car will drive down the street or the site's owner will mow his lawn. On special occasions, you can see the owner put up some nice looking decorations. The site also has a lawnmower animation that follows your mouse and a MIDI song that plays while you watch the stream.

#9: Cedar Point

This site gives you not one, but two live streams of the famous Cedar Point amusement park, as well as the many people enjoying the rides.

#8: Nautilus Live

With this site, you can witness the strange deep oceans from the comfort of your own home.

#7: International Space Station

Here you'll get to witness the breathtaking views of outer space and the satellites NASA uses to detail it. On occasion, you'll be able view the planet Earth and the NASA crew on-duty.

#6: AroraMAX

This site lets you witness the Northern Lights in all their glory. If you missed the latest stream, you can still see it with the AroraMAX replay window.

#5: EarthCam

This is a site that lets you explore various places around the world, from the bustling city of New York to the beautiful beaches in Australia.

#4: Willard Library Ghost

This page contains camera footage of several rooms of the Willard Library, known for being the alleged home of the Grey Lady Ghost. If you think you see her, you can click on one of the livestreams to submit a picture.

#3: Nessie Cam

With this cam, you get to watch the world Famous Loch Ness from the comfort of your home. If you're extremely lucky, you just might see Nessie herself peer up from beneath the deep. You can even take a snapshot if you think you see her!

#2: Drive Me Insane!

Unlike most of the other webcams on this list, this one is interactive. You use hyperlinks on the bottom of the page to turn various lights on and off in an attempt to annoy the owner of the room being streamed.

#1: Pitch Drop

You'll have to login into this site with either your email or Facebook account (provided you trust them with your personal data), but you'll get front row seats to the longest running experiment on this planet. What you'll see is a semisolid in a funnel. One so thick that from the experiment's debut in 1927 to modern day, only 9 drops of it have fallen through the funnel into a waiting cup.

If you're stuck at home thanks to Covid-19, weather issues or something else, I hope you give these cams a gander. If you know of any interesting live cams I missed, tell me about them in the comments section. I'll see you later. Have a good day or night depending on what time it is.

This phone case comes with a built-in fidget spinner that doubles as a phone grip.

10 Interesting smart watches

What's better than having a computer in your pocket? Having one on your wrist, of course! From notifiers that connect to your phone to full on computers that can replace your phone, join me as we count down 10 smart watches worth checking out.

#10: Martian

It looks like a normal watch, doesn't it?

While this one at first appears to be a standard luxury watch, underneath the clock is a tiny screen that displays whatever notifications your connected smartphone might be trying to send you.

#9: Samsung Gear S2

Spin baby, spin!

It looks like your standard smartwatch, but it has a fun little secret. In addition to a touchscreen, this device holds a rotating bevel to help with navigating the menus. As if that wasn't enough, it is also compatible with 3G and 4G, so you don't even need to connect it to a smartphone to use it.

#8: VTech Kidizoom SmartwatchDX

They'll make a toy version of everything, won't they?

Instead of iOS or Android, this smartwatch for kids features a unique OS made by VTech. It features 2 cameras, a mini USB port and its own apps and watch faces.

#7: Omate Truesmart

Not the biggest option, but an option nonetheless!

This water-resistant little smartwatch can do everything a smartphone can do without being connected to one. It even includes a camera for picture taking, though at an awkward angle.

#6: Apple Watch

Well to be fair, this watch is kinda fancy.

In exchange for being incredibly expensive, this smartwatch offers extremely high class and almost unmatched customization. In addition, it also has water resistant casing, force touch capability and a button that doubles as a knob for additional app control. Just be sure to have an iOS device to pair with it.

#5: Pebble

Press f to pay respects.

Unlike the other watches on this list, this one runs a black and white LCD screen and is controlled with 4 buttons on the sides instead of a touchscreen. There are 3 variations of this device: The original, toy-like model, the fancy Pebble Steel, and the Pebble Time, which uses a fancy new colored screen. While the Pebble company is now defunct, there is a fan community called Rebble that keeps the software alive.

#4: Neptune Pine

This thing pretty much is a phone!

Not only is this device much bigger than the standard watch (computer or otherwise), it can also function just like a smartwatch. As if that wasn't cool enough, the watch can also be detached from the strap to take pictures with.

#3: LeapFrog Leapband

Leave it to LeapFrog to put kids first!

Because this watch is aimed at kids 6 and under, it offers no GPS or calling functionality. Instead, it has preloaded kids games, a virtual pet, activity tracking and an award system.

#2: Fossil Wrist PDA

Meet the great grandfather of smartwatches!

Definitely the oldest device on the list, this device runs a black and white display and can synchronize data with a connected PC. While it might be dated nowadays, it was still a pretty big trail blazer for future smartwatches.

#1: ZYPAD

I know it goes on your wrist, but does this technically count?

This device is possibly the most unique of the bunch. First of all, it debuted in 2006, before smartwatches became widespread. Second, it is by far the biggest device on this list, being more of a bracelet than a watch. Lastly, it uses a Linux instead of running an operating system tailored for smartwatches or smartphones.

If you're looking for some great wristworn gadgets, I think you'll be happy. If you can think of some other great smart watches, be sure to drop some suggestions in the comments section. I'll see you later. Have a merry Christmas.

15 Interesting computer concepts

It would be really cool if these things existed. From modular smartphones to bracelets that can put touchscreens on your wrist, join me as we count down 15 really cool technological conceptions. Any concepts that actually do make it into reality will have a 📱 at the end of the header.

#15: Creoir Ibis

Now this is a stylish smartwatch!
This watch combines style with versatility. It has 2 displays: a watch face for time telling and a screen for computing functions. The only smartwatches I can think of that are anywhere near as classy as this one are the Apple Watch and Martian smartwatches.

#14: B-Membrane Computer by Won-Seok Lee

This futuristic-looking computer projects a display onto the wall instead of holding a screen. When in use, its base produces a laser keyboard. When not being used as a computer, it can produce ambient light effects.

#13: Cicret bracelet

Who needs a smartphone when you have this thing?
This bracelet is extremely different from the average smartwatch. Instead of holding a screen, it projects a touch interactive display on your wrist. As if that wasn't cool enough, the bracelet is also water proof and works perfectly without being connected to a smartphone.

#12: Fractal by Pedro Calle

This thing is 8 detachable tablet computers rolled into 1!
This tablet can be split into multiple pieces, each of which work on their own. All of the pieces can either be used desperately for different tasks or put together for a single job. You can even have multiple people use the same the device by giving them some of the pieces.

#11: Neptune Suite

Many devices, one brain!
The main hub of this system is the watch. You can connect this watch to a pocket or tab screen to create a phone, tablet or laptop. The suite also includes a dongle that lets you connect the hub to a TV and a pair of wireless headphones. The pocket and tab screens are inexpensive and don't contain your personal info when connected to the hub.

#10: KOOB Modular Computer System

This system's modules can be detached from the main hub and assigned based on what you need. For example, you can have a media controller on one module and a list of options on another. The modules can also be used on other KOOB computers besides the ones they're normally attached to.

#9: Napkin PC by Avery Holleman

Now we're getting crazy!
This strange device can turn e-paper napkins into temporary touchscreens. You can make a larger touch surface using multiple napkins. It comes with 6 digital pens that you can draw on the touch napkins with.

#8: Ora-X

It's the Google Glass of headphones!
This pair of headphones has a little screen that runs android. To control it, the headphone that holds the screen has a built in touch pad. The screen also swivels so that it can hang over either of your eyes or be out of your way when not in use.

#7: Power Flower Tower

Here is a more eco-friendly system!
This is definitely one of the strangest PC concepts I've ever seen. Not only is it controlled with gestures, but it is also powered by a hydrogen fuel cell. As it generates power, water drips out of the white base and into the clear container.

#6: E-ball

This thing kinda reminds you of R2-D2, doesn't it?
Instead of a traditional screen, this strange little device projects a display onto either a nearby wall or whatever sheet of paper it's holding. It also projects a laser keyboard for typing. When not in use, its compact design can easily be put into a drawer.

#5: Mobile Script

2 displays on one device? Mind blown!
This thing at first appear to be a standard smartphone, but it has a second display that pops out of the unit. The first display is mainly for notifications, while the second display is for most of your computing needs.

#4: Meta Space Glasses by Meron Gribetz

Why hold a small screen in-front of your eyes when you can make your own holographic world?
Unlike most smart glasses, this device creates an augmented reality using holograms. The various things that can be projected include a chess game, Lego project blueprints, a vase making app and even a phone and laptop. Fortunately, the holograms don't prevent you from seeing the real world.

#3: Phonebloks by Dave Hakkens

Your phone, your way!
You can customize this phone by adding various square modules to the back. The modules include wi-fi, bluetooth, volume control buttons, a camera and a headphone jack. This project has inspired various similar devices, including the Blocks smartwatch and the unfortunately abandoned Project Ara.

#2: Lifebook 2013 by Prashant Chandra

This one's a major space saver!
This laptop has an embedded phone, tablet and handheld camera. These devices all synchronize with the laptop and can be removed from their slots to be used on their own. Instead of a physical keyboard, the tablet acts like one when placed into its slot.

#1: Lifebook Volumi by Dulyawat Wongnawa

This thing is multiple devices rolled into one!
What makes this device special is its flexibility. Made up of multiple touchscreen pcs hinged together, this versatile machine can be folded into a variety of different modes. If you're done using it, you can fold it up like an envelope and fit it in your pocket.

I'd definitely like to see these devices in the real world. If you know of any other conceptualized computers I may have missed, feel free to share your suggestions in the comments below. I'll see you later. Have a good day or night depending on what time it is.

Honerable mentions

These aren't technically computers, but they're still worth a mention.

Air Clicker by Yeon Su Kim

How's this for a 24/7 camera?

This finger-worn camera is controlled with simple gestures. To take a picture, just make an L shape with your fingers and then twitch your index finger down. To record videos, just cup your hand.

Go Workstation by Rizki Tarisha

I want one!

This chair is the definition of all in one. Not only is the chair comfortable, but it also has a built-in stand for your laptop. Not only that, you can also charge your laptop by spinning the built-in pedals with your feet.
