20 Hilarious Wile E. Coyote fails

 Even by Looney Tunes standards, the amount of physical harm this unlucky canine can endure is amazing. Whether they get him blown up, lead to him falling off a cliff or are the results of the laws of physics making him their bi.... Err, punching bag, here are 20 of Wile E's most hilarious failed attempts at catching the Road Runner and Bugs Bunny.

#20: Super nobody: Fast and Furry-ous

Spoiler alert: This is a bad idea!

Wile E purchases a Superman costume and jumps off a cliff in an attempt to fly. He only succeeds in falling hundreds off feet onto the hard dessert ground. Talk about a super fail!

#19: Train from outta nowhere: Hot-Rod and Reel

Where'd that train come from?!

In an attempt to trap his mortal enemy, the Coyote sets up a fake railroad crossing. The second he springs his trap, a real train rams into him. Ouch!

#18: Bridge out!: Gee Whizz-z-z-z-z-z

Talk about wonky physics!

In a reverse of the usual painting gag, the Road Runner breaks through a painting Wile E draws... And Wile E enters the painting when he follows suit, falling through the chasm it depicted in the process. Too bad!

#17: Bunny bomb: Operation Rabbit

Brilliant. Unfortunately, Bugs also thought so...

Not one to give up (though he should), Wile E tries to blow Bugs up with a bomb disguises as a sexy bunny girl. However, a sexy coyote girl shows up at Wile E's doorstep... Which just happens to also be a bomb, designed by Bugs. You can do the math.

#16: Size changing pipe: Soup or Sonic

Maybe get away before the Road Runner gets hungry?

During an old school chase scene, both the bird and the canine run into a pipe that shrinks them to the size of an ant. When they run back through the same pipe, the former returns to normal size... And the latter remains tiny.

#15: What was the plan here? Whoa, Be-Gone!

For someone who claims to be a genius, he sure does do a lot of stupid stuff!

El Coyote's tightrope routine ends with the rope he was using breaking and him taking yet another plunge to the hard desert floor. This time, however, the rope reaches him... But not without touching a powerline first. At this point this coyote could give Meg Griffin a run for her money!

#14: Running through the dark: Beep Beep

At what point does he give up trying to catch that bird?

Dawning light up helmets, our favorite highspeed rivals wind up running all throughout a dark mineshaft. As unlucky as always, Wile E runs in circles, bounces off the ceiling and floor and finally winds up in a room full to the brim with dynamite.

#13: Right to the body: Beep Beep

That moment you realize you picked the wrong occupation!

The Coyote's next attempt at striking the supposedly Speed Force powered bird (tell me you can't imagine the Road Runner wearing a Flash costume!) involves a spring-loaded boxing glove. When sprung, the glove sends the boulder it's attached to flying into a nearby cliffside, and then slams in it's setters face.

#12: Detonator detonation: Fast and Furry-ous

Bad luck, thy name is Wile E. Coyote!

Sir Coyote tries the good ole dynamite trick on Sir Road Runner... Unfortunately, its the detonator that blows up in this situation, as opposed to the dynamite. Kaboom indeed!

#11: Ramp of in your face: Zoom and Bored

Talk about bombastic!

Still on the hunt for some really fast food, Wile E builds a super long ramp on a mountain with a bomb at the top. It takes a minute for the camera to pan up to the ramp's beginning... and a split second for the bomb Wile E lights up to explode in his face.

#10: Exploding water stand: Beep Beep

Tough luck buddy!

Wile E attempts to tries to bait his avian target with "free water" (spoiler alert: The glass is attached to a bomb), to no avail. Later on he mistakenly grabs that same glass... Guess what happens next!

#9: Miniature tornado of doom: Whoa, Be-Gone!

Even when small, tornadoes are bad news!

For his final attempt this episode, Wile E breaks out a tornado seeds and a water gun. Unfortunately for him, his water gun misfires and spills out on the seeds, creating a small tornado that ensnares him and drags him all over the desert, eventually bringing him to a minefield. Nature can be so cruel!

#8: Physics strike again: To Hare is Human

The laws of physics must really hate this guy!

In this short, Monsieur Egolicious employs an idea making machine to help him get the best of Bugs. His last attempt involves setting up a boulder to fall on Bugs when he picks a certain carrot. The rope connecting the 2 doesn't release when Bugs plucks said carrot... But it does when an annoyed Coyote touches it.

#7: Magnet go boom: Zipping along

Who knew TNT came in large metal barrels?

Good ole Eatius Birdius tries using steel balls and a giant magnet to catch Eatius Birdius. The only thing he catches is a giant TNT barrel, complete with lit fuse. Kaboom!

#6: Earthquake pills: Hopalong Casualty

Always read the fine print, everyone with a brain!

Finding out too late that they don't work on road runners, Fuzzy MC Unlucky swallows an entire pill of Earthquake pills and starts shaking violently all over the desert until he once again falls off a cliff. Well actually, the pills wear off right before he goes over, but in his relieved state he accidentally walks off another cliff. Tough luck!

#5: World's strongest magnet: Compressed Hare

No magnet should be this strong!

After several failed attempts at catching Bugs for lunch, Wile E. Decides to use a giant super magnet. Instead of catching bugs, the magnet catches Bugs' furniture, some ships, the Eiffel tower, several satellites and a massive rocket, which blows up the Coyote's base of operations. Next time use a weaker magnet!

#4: Coyote bot, Go!: The Solid Tin Coyote

Even humanoid canines dig giant robots!

After several more failed attempts trying to catch the Road Runner, the Coyote constructs a giant metal coyote to get the job done. Though the robot does succeed at first, it eats the Wile E. instead of the bird and then runs off a cliff like its forever unlucky creator. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!

#3: Too fast for bullets: Gee Whiz-z-z-z-z-z

Stupid bullet!

Our canine friend tries to put a bullet to his adversary's head, but the bullet gives up after he outruns it. An annoyed Coyote grabs the stationary bullet, only for it to explode in his face.

#2: The catapult: To Beep or Not To Beep

If at first you don't succeed, try again. If at twentieth you don't succeed, maybe try something else!

Our furry antagonist decides to go medieval and tries using a catapult against his feathered fiend. His efforts are in vain, however, as the thing always slams its boulder payload into him regardless of what he does to avoid it. During his last attempt, the catapult refuses to fire until he goes to the boulder, sending him through yet another obstacle course of pain.

#1: A cabin full of explosive carrots: Operation: Rabbit

Sometimes your worst enemy is your own ego. Other times it's an oncoming train!

Wile E tries to use Bugs' love of carrots to his advantage by filling some fake carrots with nitroglycerin. Unfortunately, he's so busy setting his trap up and stroking his ego that Bugs has time to move the shack he's in onto some train tracks... And Wile E doesn't notice until right before the oncoming train slams into the shack, detonating ever drop of nitroglycerin it held.

Some people just can't catch a break, especially when they refuse to stop chasing after impossibly fast birds. 10 Worst cartoon "protagonists"

You won't find these super stinkers near the Justice League or Avengers anytime soon. From incompetent jokers to conscience-free jerks, join me as we count down 10 of the worst designated "heroes" in cartoon history. To clarify, I will not be including characters like Cartman, Zim or Blackhat, as despite their protagonist titles they are clearly designed to be villains. I will also exclude characters like Rick Sanchez or BoJack Horseman, who have good reasons for being somewhat jerky.

#10: Mr. Krabs from seasons 5 through 8 SpongeBob SquarePants

He'll do anything for a buck, even if it means breaking the law!

In the first couple of seasons this crustacean was greedy, but quite well meaning and not too bad. In seasons 5 through 8, however, this changed quickly. Not only did his greed escalate to the point he'll drag people into his restaurant and force them to order food, several episodes showed him doing things like running a newspaper business that told life-ruining lies about the other customers, firing loyal employee SpongeBob just to save a nickel, and playing on Plankton's fear of whales to the extent he tried to kill himself. Fortunately, this character was reformed near the middle of season 9.

#9: Johnny Test from... well, Johnny Test

Not every kid is a good one.

This kid goes way beyond being just a little brat. Not only does he bug everyone around him with his whiney nature, he also causes major problems for his family and neighborhood by messing with his sisters' experiments. It doesn't help that he often receives little to no punishment for his misdeeds.

#8: The Teen Titans from Teen Titans Go!

Anyone else miss the old show?

Unlike their animated 2003 counterparts, these guys are really hard to like. Not only do they fight their enemies sometimes before they've even done anything, they also play harmful pranks on each other, wreck property, hurt innocent civilians and attacking their enemies before they've even done anything to warrant being attacked. That being said, the show does often bring up self-awareness about their unheroic behavior through self insults and the first movie puts them in a more positive light.

#7: Wally and Gus from Rocket Monkeys

These two are so bad even their own theme song mocks them!

Throughout this not so good show, these two morons repeatedly prove that they don't deserve their jobs as galactic patrol men. Not only do they cause rampant mayhem for everyone and everything around them, they also drove their arch enemy to villainy because they kept attacking him under the belief that he is a banana.

#6: Allen and Richard from... well, Allen Gregory

With characters like these, is it any wonder this show only lasted seven episodes?

These 2 are just plain rude. Allen is a self-absorbed little prick who treats nearly everyone around him like dirt and has a stalkerish crush on the much older principle of his school. Richard is no better. Not only did he stalk Jeremy until he left his family to be in an abusive relationship with him, he's also so incompetent at his job that the higher ups made him the "Super CEO" so he doesn't ruin the company.

#5: Henry and Ray from the Adventures of Kid Danger

Super heroes, they are not!

Sure they had moments of question morality in Henry Danger, but here they're just ridiculous. Not only do they repeatedly refuse to save the day because they were "too busy" playing video games or eating at a restaurant, but they also cause far more problems than any of the actual villains in the show.

#4: Sparky from The Fairly Oddparents

Don't let that big smile fool you, this guy is a menace to society!

This sob is widely considered one of the biggest reason for this show going down the toilet and its very easy to see why. From his first appearance alone, he caused immense problems with his magic and twice nearly got Timmy killed in a plane crash and a flood, while feeling no guilt about it. His appearances in other episodes were no better, to the point that fan's celebrated when he was confirmed to not be coming back for season 10.

#3: Peter Griffin from modern Family Guy

In all fairness, most of Family Guy's other main characters aren't much better.

He was once a well meaning if dimwitted and childish individual, but now he's one of the biggest jerks in cartoon history. He's abusive to his wife and kids, he's a major threat to everyone and everything around him and to top it all off, he virtually never regrets any of his actions and often gets off scot-free with them.

#2: Scrappy from The Little Pest

This little bastard only appeared in a few old shorts, but this one alone puts him on the list. While going fishing, he repeatedly yells at his baby brother Oopie that he can't come along, going as far as to slap him hard enough to send him flying a short distance. When Oopie manages to catch up and accidentally tangles to fishing lines, Scrappy throws him right into the lake. As if that wasn't bad enough, he walks away pretending not to hear Oopie's cries for help and only goes in to save him so he doesn't get punished for his death. To top off this misery sundae, when the revived Oopie requests a drink of water, Scrappy responds by throwing him right back into the lake to drown.

#1: Ren from Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon

Somebody forgot their likeability pills today!

His original incarnation might've been a major jerk, but he least has some redeeming qualities. This version, however, is nothing but a monster. After a childhood of subjecting innocent animals to horrible torture, he lusts over scantily clad women, regularly consumes drugs and alcohol and is horribly abusive to Stimpy, even when he's supposedly pregnant.

Dishonerable mentions

Here are a few protagonists that aren't as bad as the ones above, though that's not a compliment.

Sway Sway and Beduece from Breadwinners

They mean well, they just don't have brains!

Yes these guys might annoy their fellow characters and cause more harm than good, but from what I've seen they have good hearts and often try to make up for their wrong doings, which is more than I can say for the characters who made the list.

Caillou and D.W. from Caillou and Arthur

You know the difference between these two, DarkSyde Phil and Onision? Two of them are obnoxious brats nobody likes and the other two are pictured above.

These kid might be highly obnoxious and prone to temper tantrums, but their wrong doings are nothing compared some of the stuff the entries above have done.

Bloo from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends

Out of all the characters on this list, Bloo is possibly the most likeable.

I honestly don't get why some people hate this character to be honest. Yes he's bratty, selfish and willing to step all over his friends to get what he wants, but there have been countless times where he treats his friends like actual friends and the show often punishes him for his misdeeds.

Yeah, this probably isn't the most upbeat way to ring in the new year, but I hope you enjoyed reading this anyway. 10 interesting facts about Sesame Street

Here are some things this decade spanning teaching tool never taught us. From the skits to some of the characters, join me as we count down 10 rather fascinating facts about Sesame Street. Update: I've recently started a separate blog where I detail various facts about various games, movies, tv shows and more. You can find it here.

#10: It's extremely successful

This toy was so popular there were reports of shoppers beating each other up to get them!

You may not know it, but this is one of the most successful shows on this planet we humans call home. Since its debut in 1969, its garnered millions of dollars in merchandise sales and aired over 4500 episodes. To put that into perspective, that's more than The Simpsons, Family Guy, SpongeBob SquarePants, Teen Titans Go, South Park and Arthur combined!

#9: Snuffleupagus was originally terrifying

Still not as frightening as Clanker.

The current Snuffleupagus might be one of the cutest things this side of kitties and puppies, but the first incarnation of him was another story. He originally had large, kinda angry looking yellow eyes and spoke in a slow, almost depressed tone.

#8: Some of the sections are lost

Where are you, episode starring the Wicked Witch of the West?

Given it's absolutely massive library, it was probably inevitable that some of the sections would be lost media. Some missing sketches include a whole episode featuring the Wicked Witch of the West, a scientist muppet who's lectures were so boring that he himself would fall asleep in the middle of them and the infamous section where Snuffy's parents get divorced.

#7: It's on both PBS and HBO

Elmo knows what's up!

Episodes of the show nowadays air first on HBO and then appear on PBS 9 months later. This is because back in 2015 PBS had difficulty paying for the show's licensing fees and HBO's much bigger net worth rectified this problem. This show also used to air on Noggin, but the time Viacom sued YouTube put an end to that partnership.

#6: Rubber Duckie hit the billboards

Somebody has talent!

Turns out this classic song was a hit with more than just the young viewers. It was popular enough to reach no. 16 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart. Now that's an iconic kid's show song!

#5: Oscar the Grouch was originally orange

Talk about skin change!

The grumpy, trashcan dwelling Oscar used to have orange skin in the show's first season. According to the monster himself, he turned green after a vacation to Swamp Mushy Muddy, which was so damp that he became covered in mold and slime.

#4: Arnold appeared here before he got his own show

Arnold goes way back!

Long before Hey Arnold became one of the best known shows on Nickelodeon, the titular character appeared in several claymation shorts on Sesame Street: Arnold Escapes Sunday School, The Arnold Waltz and Arnold Uses His Imagination. In these shorts, Arnold was portrayed as a constant daydreamer rather than the helpful, kindhearted boy he'd become in his own show.

#3: Cookie monster's many quirks

Turns out there was more to Cookie Monster than his love of cookies!

We all know Cookie Monster, the blue, lovable monster whose love of cookies is so great he'll smash a safe to pieces to get some. What you might not have known, however, is that he's the only puppet on the show to have 5 fingers, while the others either had only 4 or didn't have any fingers at all. Speaking of which, he is also one of 2 characters who is left handed, the other being Ernie. Finally, the "cookies" he ate on the show were actually rice cakes with brown spots painted on them.

#2: Big Bird's costume is somewhat unique

Who knew Big Bird was a camera head?

For Caroll Spinney, being Big Bird isn't as easy as just putting on the costume and acting like an innocent child. Whenever he's in character, he wears a video harness so he can see what's going on.

#1: They'll cover nearly any topic

We still miss you, Mr. Hooper.

One of the most well known and well liked aspects of Sesame Street is its willingness to cover even the hardest topics to discuss with kids. In the past they've talked about bullying, drug use and even death. This trend even continues to this day, as more modern times have seen the show introduce a character who was autistic and shown Elmo's family grieving over the death of one of it's members.

15 Nightmarish moments in kids Cartoons

Sometimes even the shows aimed at the youngest children can have some f@#$ed up material. From stop motion creatures from Hell to actual nightmares, join me as we countdown 15 surprisingly messed-up scenes from cartoons aimed at kids. #15: SpongeBob SquarePants: Fusion gone wrong

And this is the least disturbing thing on this list!

Episode: SquidBob TentaclePants
SpongeBob and Squidward spend most of the episode fused together thanks to Sandy's latest invention. In the end, her device backfires and causes herself, Patrick, Larry, Pearl, Mrs. Puff and Mr. Krabs to fuse with them. The image is over quickly, but it leaves a lasting impression.

#14: Tom & Jerry: Tom dreams about going to Hell

Thank Heaven this is only a dream!

Episode: Heavenly Puss

This episode might just be a dream, but that does nothing to limit the nightmare factor. After dying, Tom finds himself in front of a cat St Peter, who tells him that he can't enter heaven because of his constant torment of Jerry. He tries to make amends, but his attempts are in vain and he ends up falling into Hell, where a devil version of Spike the bulldog prepares to torture him for all eternity. As if that wasn't bad enough, near the beginning of the episode we get to see 3 kittens tied up in a wet bag, hinting that they've been drowned.

#13: Thomas The Tank Engine: Henry gets bricked up

Thankfully, he's let out of this tunnel in the next episode.

Episode: The Sad Story of Henry
Henry gets a new paint job and he likes it so much that he refuses to leave his tunnel for fear of the rain ruining it. After several failed attempts of forcing him to move, the Fat Controller has his tracks removed and a large brick wall built in front of him, effectively tombing him within the tunnel. He ends up trapped in the tunnel so long that he becomes too weak to even respond when Gordon mocks him. All he can do is watch the outside world and think about what he's done.

#12: Angry Beavers: Zombie attack!

Where's the Electric Blueberry when you need her?!

Episode: Open Wide for Zombies

Norb and Dag discover a hut in a bayou owned by an old woman. Unfortunately, she turns out to be a voodoo witch and she has a large army of zombies at her disposal. While still a fairly comedic episode, there's no denying that the zombies look absolutely terrifying, plus it was scary to think what would happen to the beavers if the zombies caught them.

#11: Rugrats: Angelica's nightmare

After this dream, I don't blame Angelica for wanting to stay an only child.

Episode: Angelica's Worst Nightmare

In this episode, Angelica dreams of what it would be like if she had a younger brother. The dream starts out normal enough, but it becomes horrifying when her baby brother starts chasing her with intent to kill. He grows larger and larger until he becomes the size of a building and when he finally catches Angelica, he proceeds to swallow her whole.

#10: Pingu: Pingu's walrus tormentor

If you listen closely, you can hear hundreds of Pingu fans running for the nearest hiding places!

Episode: Pingu's Dream

During a nightmare, Pingu's bed comes to life and starts walking. Things take a turn for the worse, however, as a gigantic walrus appears out of nowhere and starts tormenting the poor penguin. His mannerisms and creepy laugh just add the the disturbing nature of this episode. 

#9: Ren & Stimpy: Ren's psychopathic jealousy

Still nowhere near as bad as Ren Seeks Help...

Episode: Stimpy's Fan Club
Stimpy gets tons of fan mail while Ren gets nothing. His jealousy slowly consumes him and before long, we see him debating with himself whether or not to kill his best friend in his sleep. Over time, his thoughts become more and more disturbing, the visuals become more and more menacing, eventually leading to a scene were all we see are Ren's face and hands coming out of darkness. Thankfully, these sequences end when Stimpy gives Ren his own fan letter.

#8: Star Vs The Forces of Evil: Hungry Larry

Imagine this guy being part of Ludo's army!

In this episode, Star and Marco hire a ghost to turn the latter's house into a haunted house attraction. While it starts out silly, things quickly take a turn for the worse as Larry starts eating the trick or treaters and eventually even Star is incapacitated. If not for Marco's father, Hungry Larry would've won in the end.

#7: Courage the Cowardly Dog: Pretty much the whole show

This show was made for Halloween!

Honestly it's difficult to find an episode of this show that didn't have nightmare fuel. Between murderous felines, terrifying CGI  ghosts, shaving obsessed lunatics and straight up demons, this show has more than enough material to scar any child for life.

#6: Villainous: What happens to Vilgax

Yeeeesh!

In the episode "Guide for an Evil Conquest, Dr. Flug shows his 5 points for successful villainy while review the Ben 10 villain Vilgax. Near the end, Dr. Flug gives Vilgax a Black Hat branded Omnitrix. When he tries to transform into Black Hat, he instead turns into a monstrous hybrid of the 2, the Black Hat half eats the Vilgax half and the whole abomination gets sucked right into the Omnitrix. Understandably, Flug responds by burning the device.

#5: Powerpuff Girls: The future where Him wins

This guy isn't this show's version of Satan for no reason!

Episode: Speed Demon

In this episode, the girls fly so fast that travel many years into the future. Him takes over Townsville in this future and he wastes no time turning the town into a hellish landscape where everyone is sickly and miserable. In the climax, the townsfolk surround the girls and remind them that they've abandoned the town to this fate. Luckily, the girls are able to travel back to the present and prevent this future from happening.

#4: Invader Zim: Zim's organ hunt

Thank God this scene was obscured by shadows!

Episode: Dark Harvest

Zim fears that the nurse will discover his alien nature once she examines him, so he steal the organs of the human students while replacing them with various random objects. As the episode progresses, more and more students get their organs graphically ripped out and Zim gets more obese from eating them. Dib tries to stop him, but in the end he is Zim's final victim...

#3: Avatar: The Legend of Korra: Korra's torture

This gives torture a whole new level of pain!

Episode: Venom of the Red Lotus

In this episode, Korra is captured by the Red Lotus and they torture her by bending toxic liquid into her skin. All the while, her body contorts horribly until she enters the Avatar state and promptly massacre's the cult, only stopping when she passes out from the poison. While she survives, she suffers serious physical and psychological damage from the encounter.

#2: Gravity Falls: Weirdamagedden

And we thought Bill was just a harmless triangle at first.

In this 3-part series finale, Bill Cipher manages to escape the dream world and turns Gravity Falls into a hellish landscape. To list a few things that happen during this time: Bill captures a large number of the population and turns them into a possibly conscious throne of agony (even he doesn't know), reality distorting bubbles scatter the land and Bill's gruesome friends roam the land, torturing any humans they encounter. Thankfully, the main characters are able to reverse this horrible event and kill Bill once and for all.

#1: Teen Titans: Trigon's invasion

Quite an accurate depiction of the apocalypse, if I say so myself.

Episode: The End
If you thought Bill Cipher's Hell on earth was bad, you haven't seen this one. After Raven is forced to complete her prophecy, her father Trigon invades Earth and it isn't pretty. Demonic entities roam the land, most of the planets population are turned into statues, the skies turn blood red and Trigon himself sits in the middle of it all, watching the carnage from a giant throne. Thankfully, the combined efforts of the Teen Titans and Slade (who mainly came to reclaim his soul from the satanic figure) are enough to banish him from Earth.
